When the Huntsville/Madison County EMA first started providing CERT training, there were multiple government grants available to fund the supplies used to put on the class such as recharging the Fire Extinguishers, providing the propane for the fire pit, providing the class manuals, etc. Those grants are no longer availaber so starting in 2016 we are asking for $10 per person to aid in covering those costs. If your church, work, community organization, etc. would like to donate to the Madison County CERT Association, we are an IRS 501(c)(3) organization and can provide a tax deductible receipt for any donation. The $10 fee does not count as a donation according to the IRS since you are receiving something for the money - the training.
The next CERT class is scheduled to start on September 13th and run through November 1st (Mondays). Classes will start at 6:30 PM and last for about 2.5 hours, maybe more if the instructor gets long winded or the students ask a lot of questions. Specifics on the class location will be emailed to those signed up for the class.
If you need to make up a missed class session or want to sign up for this class or wish to be placed on the "Wait List" for a future class, please email the Madison County CERT Association here -> email@example.com. Please include in your email your name, email, phone, and whether you wish to attend the entire class or which Session you wish to attend to complete your training. We will add you to the appropriate List and let you know when the next class gets scheduled.
Once we get enough people to say that they are coming to the training and schedule the class, if we do not get a minimum of 15 attendees to show up then the class will be postponed.
